Pro bono publico

"For the Public Good"

At Axcess we understand the importance of a strong community.  We are all members of the same community and believe in giving back through pro bono work to community members in need.  Through contributing our labor, materials, and experience, we elevate not only the recipient of the work, but ourselves and the entire community as well.

Southeast Regional Olympic Training Center

Rummel High School alums Joe Mistich and James Ravernack wanted to give back to the school that provided them so much. The Southeast Regional Olympic Training Center is located on the campus of Archbishop Rummel High School in New Orleans. It is a premier facility which boasts state of the art equipment. Axcess designed and built the entire facility in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Louisiana and the United States Olympic Committee. Axcess was involved in every phase of this project from the ground up, including pre-design and construction management.

L Club

While in attendance at LSU, Joe Mistich was a member of the L Club. In 1997 he joined the board of the L Club and from 2001-2003 was the President. While President he offered his construction services and did minor renovations to the L Club Room. These include repainting and the installation of all media equipment.

Post-Katrina Clean Up

Although Hurricane Katrina was devastating, it gave us the opportunity to lend a helping hand to our community.  As soon as it was safe to move around the parish, we did.  It was important for us to be there for others in a time of extreme need.  We hooked up generators, tarped damaged roofs, and cleared debris around the entire North Shore area.

Paulsell Retrofit

Axcess is working with Christie Paulsell to retrofit her house to accommodate her daughter’s special needs. PJ Paulsell, the victim of a severe motor vehicle injury, is currently weal chair bound and requires special care. The retrofit will include ramps, railing, door widening, and other features to enable PJ to fully function in her home.
